SUMMARY:
Luxury Estate, Hotel & Spa based close to Somerset West is looking for an experienced, commercially driven and highly organised Events Lead to join their team and take responsibility for driving and growing their conference, meetings, incentives, private functions, weddings, special events and group business.
 
This is a key commercial and operational role for someone who thrives on building relationships, converting opportunities and ensuring every event is planned and delivered to the highest standards
 
Reporting to the Revenue Manager, the Events Lead will manage the complete event lifecycle; from the initial enquiry and sales conversion through to contracting, detailed planning, operational coordination, execution and final account reconciliation.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising revenue opportunities while ensuring an exceptional client and guest experience throughout.

POSITION INFO:
Duties: Manage and convert conference, MICE, group and private event enquiries. Develop new business opportunities and build strong relationships with corporate clients, agencies and event partners. Conduct client meetings and professional hotel site inspections. Prepare compelling proposals, quotations and presentations. Negotiate rates, packages and contractual terms within approved guidelines. Maximise revenue through upselling accommodation, food & beverage and ancillary services. Manage the event sales pipeline and ensure enquiries are followed up within agreed turnaround times. Coordinate Function Sheets\/Event Orders and ensure all event requirements are accurately communicated. Lead and participate in weekly operational meetings to ensure effective event planning and execution. Work closely with Revenue, Sales, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Finance and Operations teams. Manage group accommodation requirements and special event bookings. Monitor conversion, revenue and sales performance and prepare regular reports. Ensure all events are delivered seamlessly, professionally and in accordance with 5* standards. Proactively identify opportunities to increase revenue and develop new markets. Build and maintain long-term relationships that generate repeat and referral business. Resolve client queries and concerns professionally and proactively. Requirements: Minimum 4 years' experience in a Conference & Events, MICE, banqueting, sales or similar role within a 4 \/ 5* hospitality environment. Proven track record in event sales, business development and client relationship management. Strong commercial and revenue awareness. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Exceptional attention to detail. Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events, deadlines and competing priorities. Strong understanding of conference, events and group accommodation operations. Proficiency in relevant hospitality systems and Microsoft Office. A valid driver's licence and own reliable transport will be advantageous.
