Camp Manager

SUMMARY:
A Big Five luxury safari camp in the Waterberg, Limpopo is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Camp Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the camp and overall guest experience.
The successful candidate will have a strong luxury hospitality background, excellent attention to detail and proven experience in a luxury safari lodge or tented camp environment.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum 5 years' experience in a Camp Manager, Lodge Manager, Assistant General Manager or similar senior hospitality management position - Previous luxury safari lodge, tented camp, private villa, 5-star lodge or high-end hospitality experience - Strong leadership and people-management skills - Excellent guest relations and communication skills - Strong luxury service and guest hosting experience - Experience managing Housekeeping and maintenance requirements - Strong stock management and financial control experience - Experience with beverage stock and sales - Experience with curio\/retail sales advantageous - Strong administrative and reporting skills - Computer literate with Microsoft Office and hospitality systems experience - Valid driver's licence and ability to drive in a safari environment - Passion for hospitality, conservation and the safari industry - Mature, professional, hands-on and able to work independently - Contactable references from at least three previous managers\/employers KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the camp - Oversee the complete guest journey from arrival through departure - Personally oversee guest arrivals, departures, meals and special occasions - Ensure personalised and exceptional guest service - Manage guest preferences, dietary requirements and special requests - Lead, motivate and manage the camp team - Conduct daily staff briefings and monitor staff performance - Identify training requirements and assist with staff development - Conduct daily inspections of guest tents and public areas - Ensure Housekeeping and camp standards are consistently maintained - Oversee maintenance requirements and preventative maintenance - Oversee Food & Beverage operations and meal service - Monitor beverage stock, sales and wastage - Manage stock, purchasing, supplier requirements and regular stock takes - Monitor revenue opportunities, guest charges and additional services - Maintain accurate financial controls and operational reporting - Ensure health, safety, hygiene and security standards are maintained - Liaise with Head Office and senior management - Ensure company policies, procedures and SOPs are implemented PACKAGE: - Single live-in position - Accommodation provided - Meals included - Salary: R16,000 - R18,000 per month, depending on experience - Compulsory provident fund - 7 consecutive days off per month - 21 consecutive days annual leave LOCATION: Waterberg - Limpopo 𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒓).
