Job Description
Purpose:
Motus Head Office seeks a Treasury Manager. The Treasury Manager assists and supports the Group Treasurer with funding requests locally and internationally, cash management, treasury projects and all other tasks in the treasury department.
Role Responsibilities:
• Manage daily cash flow and monitor short-, medium- and long-term liquidity requirements.
• Prepare and oversee the 13-week rolling cash flow forecast, including all cash inflows and outflows.
• First reviewer of daily cash position and monthly treasury reports, including debt and group reporting.
• Forecast borrowing requirements and support funding and investment decisions.
• Manage funding commitments, loan reporting and scheduled payments.
• Review and approve local and foreign payments in line with policies and banking mandates.
• Manage intercompany and interbank transfers, including cash sweeping where applicable.
• Ensure accurate compliance with applicable exchange control requirements.
• Maintain compliance with relevant banking and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong banking relationships and oversee bank mandates, profiles, accounts and administration.
• Resolve banking queries relating to FX, LCs, loans, payments and other treasury matters.
• Monitor banking fees, interest calculations, guarantee fees and loan charges, identifying opportunities to optimise costs
• Identify treasury and financial risks and implement appropriate controls and mitigation measures.
• Drive continuous improvement across treasury processes, systems, cash management and controls.
• Support treasury management system implementation and enhancements, including user training.
International
• First reviewer of monthly interest rates for International operations - asset loans and distribute reports.
• Assist with the preparation of rollover & new utilisation loan requests - International banks.
• Ensure settlement of significant transactions are completed timeously.
• Review the daily International cash flow forecast and liaise with the divisions.
SA
• First reviewer of month end interest calculation.
• Review IT2 interest rate changes for both short-term & long-term loans.
• Review the maintenance of the IT2 system for updates and changes working together with Treasury Analysts.
• Assist with preparing rollover & new utilisation loan requests - SA banks.
• Provide support and assist with daily cash management process, including Saturdays as and when required.
• Maintenance of divisional contact list (excel & outlook).
• Assist divisions with daily cash flows where necessary.
• Assist SA divisions with daily cash requests if and where required.
• Ensure daily SA cash management is processed, and all transactions are fully accounted and reconciled together with Treasury Analyst.
Other treasury duties
• Collate and prepare group FX schedules
• Manage the requests from divisions in relation to bank accounts.
• Manage the process for issuances of fuel cards and limit change forms (mainly facilitating the signing of the bank forms).
• Assist with administrative related requests.
• Maintain the group guarantee register and assist finance department with queries.
• Prepare schedules required for ALCO pack where necessary.
• Preparation and distribution of the ALCO pack.
• Maintain register of bank account listing per bank together with related filing & forms and assist with queries from auditors.
• Update and follow through signatory changes for all the businesses.
• Follow through KYC updates for all the banks and businesses.
• Collating and preparing all treasury packs for related meetings.
• Ensure all related bank documents are filed and stored in their relevant folders on the servers.
• Assist the businesses with bank administrator queries.
• Assist and support Treasury Analysts.
• Support Treasurer with adhoc or new projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
• CA(SA) or equivalent treasury qualifications will be considered.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in treasury (essential).
• Understanding of bank administrative processes.
• Understanding of receivables, payables, cash flows and liquidity.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
• Knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent administrative and record keeping skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation and outside the organisation.
• Must have a strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Able to work in a high pressured, fast paced environment to adhere to bank and internal deadlines.
• Strict adherence to bank cut-off times.
• Ability to prioritise deliverables.
• Troubleshooting and ability to resolve problems with minimal assistance.
• General knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and legislation.
• Adhere to daily, weekly, monthly and year-end deadlines.
• Maintain excellent rapport across all departments.
• Maintain good vendor relationships.
• Must be willing to perform general admin duties when required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse and reconcile data.
• Must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to change.
• Willingness to do after hours and Saturday transfers.
• Willingness to adapt and learn as systems and legislation changes.
• Position may require overtime (when necessary).
