Senior Agile Project Manager – 12-Month Contract

• Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Agile Project Manager to join their dynamic technology environment in Sandton.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing and delivering medium- to high-complexity projects in alignment with business strategy and project governance requirements. The role will oversee project scope, budgets, resources, risks, timelines and deliverables while ensuring that business benefits are clearly defined and achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
• The Project Manager will also play a key role in driving Agile ways of working, facilitating Agile ceremonies, supporting effective team collaboration, and providing mentorship and coaching on Agile principles and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans covering project objectives, strategy, resources, staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, risks and contingency planning.
• Manage project scope and ensure client requirements are clearly defined, documented and incorporated into the project.
• Ensure traceability of defined business benefits throughout the project lifecycle and escalate deviations where required.
• Manage project budgets effectively and ensure expenditure remains within the approved scope.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with agreed scope, governance and quality requirements.
• Drive the successful implementation and adoption of Agile methodologies within software projects.
• Provide expert-level guidance to project teams on project processes, systems, tools and methodologies.
• Facilitate effective communication, collaboration, integration and team dynamics.
• Facilitate engagement with diverse stakeholder groups, ensuring their requirements, expectations and needs are understood and managed.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders through regular communication, engagement and feedback.
• Monitor project progress using quality metrics, project status reports and other relevant reporting mechanisms.
• Prepare accurate project cost estimates based on client requirements and agreed project scope.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies and promote the effective adoption of Agile principles and practices.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to team members on Agile methodologies and best practices.
• Ensure project teams remain focused on key priorities and that the right tasks are delivered at the right time.
• Monitor project and deliverable progress and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.

Education & Qualifications

• Professional Qualification / Honours Degree
• Field of Study: Project Management

Certifications

• Project Management certification or closely related certification
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent
• Scaled Agile certification

Experience

• 7–10 years' overall experience working within a project environment.
• 2–3 years' experience managing medium- to high-complexity projects.
• Strong experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching teams on Agile practices.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and project governance experience.
