A position for Millwright has become available within the Maintenance Department at BTT Richards Bay.
The main purpose of the job is to keep the sites in full working order by attending to breakdowns on electrical and mechanical devices like pumps, motors, starters, lighting on site and keep all registers and legal documentation up to date.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Basic Computer knowledge
Knowledge of ISO standards
Supervisory or work team leading experience
Good people/ Engineering customer service skills
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Instrumentation knowledge on maintenance and fault finding
Mechanical and Electrical maintenance
Maintain HT equipment, hydraulic systems, pumps, deluge, electrical systems and emergency generators
Perform Locomotive electrical and mechanical maintenance
Compressor and evaporative condenser maintenance
Plan and prioritize daily work using SAP system
Be available for standby and callouts as per department roaster
Train and supervise junior employees when required
Attend to electrical and mechanical breakdowns daily
Fault finding on PLC and Scada systems
Perform statutory electrical and mechanical inspections
Repair locomotives, compressors, pumps, condensers, valves, diesel engines
Overhaul and test valves, relief valves and mechanical pumps
Install mechanical seals and v-belts
Operating within the parameters of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
Controlling and maintaining of all Quality Systems.
Matric or NTC3
Qualified Millwright – trade tested
5 Years Millwright experience
PLC and Scada systems
Instrumentation knowledge advantageous
