About Our Client A company operating in the FMCG sector with a facility located in Durban . The Role: Electrician The purpose of this role is to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, machinery, and equipment in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards . The role focuses on conducting preventative maintenance routines, troubleshooting electrical issues, regularly inspecting equipment, responding to breakdowns, and collaborating with maintenance, engineering, and production personnel to ensure seamless operations and minimize downtime . Key Responsibilities Apply a minimum of 2 years of FMCG experience to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, machinery, and equipment . Conduct preventative maintenance routines to ensure longevity and efficient operations of electrical systems . Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing devices and diagnostic equipment . Inspect electrical systems, circuits, and equipment regularly to identify potential hazards or malfunctions . Respond promptly to electrical emergencies or breakdowns to minimize downtime . Report electrical problems, safety concerns, or potential risks to the Maintenance Manager or relevant personnel . Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes and safety regulations . Collaborate with other maintenance staff, engineers, and production personnel to ensure seamless operations . About You Minimum of 2 years of experience in FMCG . Minimum of 1 year of experience with VSD or VFD . Trade Tested Electrician (Red Seal) qualification . Strong knowledge of electrical systems, light and heavy current, components, tools, codes, regulations, and safety standards . Ability to read electrical drawings and conduct root cause analysis . Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, planning, prioritization, and multitasking skills .
