POSITION INFO:
Job Title: Junior Web & Digital Designer Location: Rosenpark, Bellville Employment Type: Full-Time Role Overview: The primary purpose of this role is to take ownership of day-to-day website design and production. The existing Junior Developer is technically orientated and handles more development-focused work. This role will complement that skill set by bringing a stronger visual and design orientation, with a focus on website design, layouts and overall visual presentation. The ideal candidate should be comfortable designing website layouts and wireframes, working within WordPress\/Elementor, understanding responsive web design and translating a brief into a polished website. Graphic design capability is also important, as the successful candidate will provide secondary support to the Creative Designer when required. This may include supporting the creation of visual content in line with client and business requirements. Key Responsibilities: Develop, update and maintain websites using WordPress and Elementor. Assist with designing and refining website layouts and wireframes based on project briefs and brand guidelines. Assist with creating responsive, visually engaging websites. Work with the team to deliver website projects according to requirements and deadlines. Communicate professionally with clients and assist with responding to feedback. Assist with identifying and resolving basic website issues and conducting quality checks. Provide secondary graphic design support to the Creative Designer when required. Assist with creating visual content in line with client and business requirements. Follow established processes and best practices. Assist with managing multiple projects and deadlines. Work alongside the existing Junior Developer, bringing a strong visual and design focus to the team. Must-Have: Strong visual\/design ability Portfolio demonstrating web design Wireframing\/layout skills WordPress experience Elementor or similar visual builder Photoshop and\/or Illustrator Good typography, hierarchy, spacing, composition and colour understanding Responsive web design understanding Ability to interpret a client brief Minimum 1 year of relevant experience Strong Advantage: Figma UI\/UX fundamentals Basic HTML\/CSS WooCommerce Canva Marketing\/design awareness Print design Not Essential: PHP JavaScript Advanced development Server administration Advanced SEO If you meet the above requirements, please apply by submitting your CV.
