SUMMARY:
Our client is a software and systems engineering company that builds highly reliable, safety-critical and mission-critical systems. They are looking for a recent graduate with a real passion for general C++ development to join their Application Software Team.
You'll work on operator-facing, mission-critical software used in command-and-control (C2) and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems. You'll own features from requirements through design, implementation and testing, across front-end and back-end development.

Key Responsibilities Develop application software for operator-facing, mission-critical systems Take ownership of features from requirements through design, implementation and testing Research and learn new domains and technologies to understand user requirements Contribute to project outputs, including design, testing, documentation and verification artefacts Apply company engineering processes, plans and policies on projects Assist with production efforts related to application software Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (BSc) or Engineering (BSc Eng \/ BEng) Exceptional academic record, cum laude or as close to it as possible A 4-year degree, or a Bachelor's degree plus Honours, is preferred Strong interest in general C++ development (not embedded C++) Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language (C++ or Java) Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash or PowerShell) Understanding of object-oriented design and common software patterns Experience with version control (Git, Subversion or Perforce) Exposure to Agile methods and\/or issue tracking (e.g. Jira) Advantageous Personal, university or other projects completed in C++ Modern C++ (C++11 onwards) XML, XSLT, XML Schema, JSON and YAML Master's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering 2-3 years' relevant industry or postgraduate experience Personal Attributes Learns fast and absorbs new information quickly Works well in a team and independently Strong problem-solving skills High standard of written and verbal English Please note that if you have not been contacted within two weeks that your application has been unsuccessful.
