Introduction
- Novus Print: Paarden Eiland is seeking to permanently appoint an experienced and skilled Flexographic/Bag Machine Operator within the Operations department to operate the Nova Flexo Machine The successful incumbent will report to the Duty Manager.
Job description
- Set up and operate the Nova Flexographic printing/bag-making machine according to job specifications.
- Prepare the machine for production, including loading substrates, inks and print components.
- Set and maintain print registration, print position, tension and colour consistency.
- Monitor the printing and bag-making process throughout production.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure bags meet the required specifications.
- Identify and correct print and machine-related defects.
- Make machine adjustments to maintain optimal production and minimise waste.
- Monitor ink levels, viscosity and colour during production.
- Assist with plate/stereo changes, reel changes and job changeovers.
- Ensure correct job specifications and materials are used.
- Complete production and quality-control documentation accurately.
- Perform basic machine cleaning and routine maintenance.
- Identify machine faults and report technical problems to the relevant supervisor or maintenance team.
- Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the work area is clean and safe.
- Follow all company SOPs, health and safety requirements and quality standards.
- Achieve daily production, efficiency and waste targets.
Minimum requirements
- Matric/Equivalent
- Minimum of 3—5 Years experience operating a flexographic printing or bag making machine
- Experience in a flexible packaging, paper bag or printing environment will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of flexographic printing processes, inks, substrates and print registration
- Previous experience operating a Nova Flexo machine would be highly advantageous.
