Our well known client is looking for a dynamic Intermediate or Senior BI Developer to join their fabulous team. The role focuses on Power BI development, semantic modelling, SQL, data integration, ETL/ELT pipelines, performance, security, deployment and technical BI support. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment where initiative, adaptability and quick thinking are highly valued.

POSITION INFO:
The Role: Design, develop, test, publish and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, apps, datasets and semantic models. Build intuitive Power BI visualisations, including drill-throughs, tooltips, bookmarks, navigation, slicers and exception views. Develop robust DAX measures and calculation logic. Design scalable dimensional data models, including star schemas, fact tables, dimensions and relationships. Optimise DAX, Power Query, model size, cardinality and report performance. Implement row-level security, workspace access and report distribution. Manage\/support deployment across development, testing and production environments. Monitor refreshes, usage and BI performance and investigate failures. Develop and optimise SQL queries, views, stored procedures and reusable data extraction logic. Integrate and reconcile data from databases, files, spreadsheets, APIs and business applications. Create repeatable ETL\/ELT transformations using SQL, Power Query, dataflows or approved platform services. Analyse query execution and data retrieval performance. Document source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, dependencies and data lineage. Apply source-control, peer-review, change-control and production-release practices. Profile data and implement repeatable validation\/reconciliation controls. Support unit, integration, regression and UAT testing. Investigate data discrepancies and technical BI issues and coordinate corrective action. Maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, calculation definitions and release notes. Use version control and peer review for code, models and report changes. Promote reusable data products, naming conventions, development standards and a single source of truth. Identify opportunities for automation, AI-enabled analytics and improved BI capability. Keep current with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Copilot, Azure and related Microsoft data technologies. At Senior level: lead complex BI initiatives, define solution architecture, conduct code\/design reviews and mentor junior\/intermediate developers. Requirements: 3-5+ years' experience as a BI Developer (duties as above) - must have Degree is desirable Advanced Excel - must have Experience using Power BI, SQL, DAX, Power Query - must have Microsoft Fabric, Copilot, Azure and related Microsoft data technologies - advantageous
