Yard Controller

• An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Yard Controller to join a dynamic and established operation in East London. We are seeking a proactive, hands-on individual with strong leadership ability, excellent vehicle knowledge, and a passion for maintaining operational excellence.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• 4+ years' experience within fleet, transport, logistics environments
• Sound mechanical knowledge
• Valid code 08 license
• Proficient in the use of MS Office
• Health and safety knowledge
• Willingness to work standby and be available 24/7
• Applicants should be highly organised, confident and solutions-driven

Duties and Responsibilities: 
Applicants should be required, but not limited to: 

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the car hire and rental operations
• Manage vehicle servicing, maintenance, tyre replacements and warranty bookings 
• Maintain accountability for vehicles, fuel usage, accessories, and stock control
• Monitor vehicle movement, access control, and yard security
• Supervise and lead yard staff to ensure productivity and high service standards
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness, cosmetic standards, and procedural compliance
• Record and report vehicle damage, claims, and repair requirements
• Coordinate outsourced drivers and oversee delivery logistics
• Assist with safety audits, compliance requirements, and operational reporting
• Oversee the day-to-day running of the vehicle yard and rental operations
• Manage vehicle servicing, maintenance, tyre replacements, and warranty bookings
• Ensure the yard operates efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service
