MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To coordinate, manage, and continuously improve all slope monitoring activities required to detect, interpret, communicate, and respond to developing geotechnical hazards so that people, equipment, infrastructure, and production are protected.
Key Performance Areas:
- Respond to Slope Monitoring alarms and informs the relevant stakeholders
- Record all alarms, actions, response times, and close-out notes.
- Ensure all critical slope sectors are covered by fit-for-purpose slope monitoring systems.
- Interpret displacement trends, cumulative movement, velocity, velocity change, and spatial movement patterns of the different slope monitoring systems
- Make sure alarm triggers lead to the correct operational response every time.
- Carry out site geotechnical inspections, testing and analysis.
- Processes data using a variety of software systems such as QGIS, Microsoft suite, slope monitoring software etc. and maintains accurate geotechnical databases and records..
- Coordinate planned maintenance, calibration, cleaning, verification, and relocation of slope monitoring instruments.
- Liaise with survey for prism installation and integrity checks.
- Implement designated geotechnical programs within given standards/objectives and targets, and ensure efficient and effective delivery of classified ore grade as per the mine plan.
