POSITION INFO:
TECHNICAL ESTIMATOR / ESTIMATING ASSISTANT Location: Tongaat, North Coast, KwaZulu-Natal Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time Work Arrangement: Fully on-site THE ROLE An established engineering business is seeking a technically minded and detail-oriented individual to support its Sales & Estimating Manager with preparing and coordinating customer quotations across a range of engineering products and projects. The role requires someone who enjoys working with technical information, solving problems and managing multiple deadlines, with the opportunity to develop their estimating and product knowledge. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Respond to customer enquiries and assess project requirements. Review technical specifications, drawings and product requirements. Prepare accurate, detailed quotations and obtain relevant supplier and internal pricing. Follow up on outstanding information and submit quotations to clients. Manage multiple quotations and ensure deadlines are met. Assist with pricing updates and maintaining accurate records. Prepare order documentation and update estimating, tracking and QC spreadsheets. Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments. Assist with production coordination and attend site visits when required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Previous estimating, quotation or technical experience advantageous. Engineering, manufacturing, fabrication or industrial experience beneficial. Good numerical and analytical skills. Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, or willingness to learn. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. IDEAL CANDIDATE A proactive, methodical individual with a strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn.
