Manage day to day running of Laboratory

Efficiently manage resources available in order to optimise laboratory

Ability to work independently

Target and deadline driven

Must be available to work overtime from time to time

Responsible for all quality assurance in the laboratory as well as the upkeep of the quality system and quality manual as specified in SANS ISO / IEC 17025.

Ensure that all calibrations and verifications are done on al the laboratory equipment that is in use.

Ensure that the safety standards are maintained as per the company’s safety policies.

Control all activities in the Central Laboratory.

Maintain a good working relationship with industry testing laboratories as well as serve on industry related committees.

Ensure that all laboratory results are captured on the network.

Update BS-12 results on the network.

Prepare cube results submissions for customers as requested and submit to Technical Controller prior to expediting for checking and signature.

Prepare standard mix design submissions for customers as requested and submit to Technical Controllers prior to expediting for checking and signature.

Prepare aggregate test result submissions for customers as requested and submit to Technical Controllers prior to expediting for checking and signature.

Maintain all admin i.e. overtime, safety status, order numbers etc.

Maintain all filing records in a referenced, traceable, and acceptable manner

Perform quality audits for the Management System.

Laboratory Assistance

Conduct tests that they are deemed competent to do as outlined in the quality manual in an accurate manner.

Crush cubes emanating from trial mixes and BS-12’s

Collection and sampling of materials.

Receiving, checking, and marking of samples received in the laboratory according to the procedure laid out in the quality manual.

Ensure that the laboratory vehicle is maintained in a good safe condition.

General housekeeping ensuring that the laboratory is always kept clean and orderly.

Verification of laboratory equipment.

Carry out any duties as directed by Manager

Grade 12

Tertiary Qualification in Quality; Civil Engineering or relevant Concrete Technology qualifications would be an advantage

 Computer literacy – MS Office

At least 2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role

Code EB Driver License

Accuracy and ability to give attention to detail

Experience in working in a highly pressurized environment

Interpersonal and human relation skills
