Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Recruitment Officer to deliver a comprehensive, end-to-end talent acquisition service for specialist roles within our contact centre environment. This is a high-impact role for a strategic recruiter who can identify, attract, assess, and secure scarce and highly specialised talent.

About the role

You will partner closely with hiring managers, HR, technical teams, and senior stakeholders to source and appoint senior support, management, and technical professionals. You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle—from role profiling and targeted sourcing through screening, interviewing, vetting, offer management, onboarding coordination, and reporting.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop targeted sourcing plans for specialist, senior support, management, and technical vacancies.
  • Use proactive and creative sourcing methods to identify passive, scarce, and highly specialised candidates.
  • Prepare compelling job profiles, advertisements, and role specifications in partnership with hiring managers.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines, professional networks, industry relationships, and internal referral channels.
  • Screen, shortlist, and assess candidates against technical, managerial, qualification, leadership, and cultural-fit requirements.
  • Conduct competency-based, technical, telephonic, and panel interviews; coordinate interview panels and assessment processes.
  • Manage pre-employment checks, including employment, qualification, criminal, credit, professional-body, and reference checks, with strict confidentiality and compliance.
  • Verify candidate suitability against fit-and-proper, regulatory, and role-specific requirements; escalate potential risks where identified.
  • Strengthen employer brand and deliver an excellent candidate experience for senior and specialist professionals.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records in the ATS/recruitment database and provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on time-to-fill, sourcing effectiveness, offers, and pipeline metrics.
  • Confirm start dates and coordinate onboarding requirements with successful candidates and relevant stakeholders.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 3 years’ recruitment experience specifically in Specialist and Support recruitment, including senior support, management, and/or technical roles.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting for scarce-skill, specialist, managerial, or technical positions in a contact centre, BPO, shared services, or similar high-volume professional environment.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing channels and methods that deliver results for senior, managerial, and technical appointments.
  • Proven ability to conduct structured behavioural, situational, technical, and panel interviews.
  • Experience with background screening, reference checking, and pre-employment compliance processes; MIE or equivalent screening certification is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of relevant South African labour legislation, including BCEA and EEA principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, recruitment systems/ATS platforms, and recruitment reporting.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, negotiation, administration, and relationship-building skills.
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, professionalism, analytical ability, and accountability.

Required references

Applicants must be able to provide clear, contactable references that verify:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ specialist and support recruitment experience.
  • Direct experience recruiting senior support, management, and/or technical roles.
  • Competence in end-to-end recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, vetting, offers, and onboarding coordination.
  • Professional conduct, confidentiality, and compliance with recruitment and employment-check processes.
  • Please include at least two professional references—preferably a current or previous line manager, HR leader, or hiring manager—who can directly confirm your specialist recruitment experience, role scope, and performance.
