Software Tester

Job Overview:

The Tester plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products or systems before their deployment. They are responsible for identifying defects, bugs, and other issues through rigorous testing
processes. The Tester collaborates closely with developers, designers, and product managers to maintain high
standards of quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Test Planning:
• Develop comprehensive test plans based on project requirements and specifications.

Test Case Creation:
• Create detailed and effective test cases covering all aspects of software functionality.

Test Execution:
• Execute test cases manually and/or using automated testing tools to identify defects and
inconsistencies.

Defect Reporting:
• Report bugs and issues accurately and promptly using designated tracking tools, providing necessary
information for resolution.

Regression Testing:
• Conduct regression testing to ensure that previously identified issues have been addressed and that
new changes have not introduced additional problems.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to understand requirements, discuss
defects, and ensure alignment on quality objectives.

Documentation:
• Maintain documentation of test cases, test results, and testing processes for future reference and
knowledge sharing.

Continuous Improvement:
• Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies by providing feedback and
suggestions based on experience and industry best practices.

Adaptability:
• Adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and timelines, while still maintaining a high level of
quality in testing activities.

Communication:
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on testing progress,
issues, and recommendations.

Quality Assurance:
• Design and execute test cases that validate security requirements.
• Collaborate with developers to retest and validate fixes for security defects.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in software testing, preferably in a professional setting.
• Familiarity with testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of programming languages and scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a plus.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar is desirable.
• Experience writing and executing SQL queries for testing and data verification purposes.
