Our client is a highly respected international development finance institution with a long-standing track record of supporting private sector growth across developing and emerging economies. Operating through a network of offices across Africa and globally, the Johannesburg office serves as a key hub for investment activities within the SADC region, working closely with both regional and international stakeholders.

This role forms part of the Private Equity Africa team and is responsible for originating, assessing, structuring, executing, and managing private equity fund investments, co-investments, and mezzanine transactions across the continent.

The successful candidate will play a key role throughout the full investment lifecycle while building strategic relationships within the African investment ecosystem

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Originate, assess, and execute private equity fund investments, co-investments, and mezzanine transactions across Africa. Lead and contribute to transaction teams throughout the entire investment lifecycle, including screening, due diligence, structuring, approvals, legal documentation, closing, and portfolio management. Manage and monitor existing investments whilst ensuring compliance, sound governance, value creation initiatives, and exit execution. Identify and develop new investment opportunities and strategic relationships with fund managers, sponsors, financial institutions, and other market participants. Provide market intelligence and regional expertise to support investment and business development initiatives. Collaborate with colleagues across multiple regions and functional teams to deliver successful investment outcomes. Job Experience and Skills Required Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant experience within private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, development finance, or a similar investment environment. Exposure to African markets is highly advantageous. Proven track record in structuring, executing, and managing private equity fund investments, co-investments, and mezzanine transactions. Strong transaction execution experience and the ability to lead multidisciplinary deal teams. Advanced analytical, financial modelling, valuation, and project management skills. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management capabilities. Willingness to travel across Africa and operate within an international, multicultural environment.
