Senior Full Stack Developer

We are looking for an experiencedSenior Full Stack Developer to join a Cape Town-based team on a permanent opportunity (hybrid).

POSITION INFO:
What you will be doing: Design and develop scalable enterprise-grade web applications using React, TypeScript, C# and .NET 8+ . Build secure, maintainable and high-performance APIs using ASP.NET Core and REST APIs . Design, develop and optimise PostgreSQL databases. Develop reusable components, services and libraries. Apply modern architectural approaches including Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event-Driven Architecture and Microservices where appropriate. Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor and approved AI platforms throughout the development lifecycle. Use AI tools for code generation, refactoring, documentation, testing, troubleshooting, debugging and architectural analysis. Develop effective prompts and AI-assisted development workflows. Critically evaluate AI-generated code for security, performance, maintainability and compliance. Contribute to AI Engineering standards, practices and workflows. Build and maintain CI\/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes. Deploy and support applications in cloud environments, with Microsoft Azure preferred. Apply Infrastructure-as-Code principles and support application monitoring and reliability. Write comprehensive automated tests and participate in peer code reviews. Apply secure software development practices, coding standards, logging and monitoring. Participate in architecture reviews and technical governance. Mentor junior and intermediate developers. Promote AI-enabled development practices across engineering teams. Contribute to technical communities, innovation initiatives and continuous improvement. What we are looking for: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related field. 7+ years' professional software development experience . 5+ years' experience with C# and .NET . 5+ years' experience with React . 3+ years' experience with PostgreSQL . At least 1 year of practical experience using AI-assisted development tools in production environments . Strong experience with C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core and REST APIs . Strong React development experience with TypeScript and JavaScript . Experience with Entity Framework Core . Strong database design, query optimisation and performance tuning experience. Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub and CI\/CD pipelines . Experience with Docker and cloud deployment. Experience deploying solutions to cloud environments. Practical experience using AI tools for software development, including AI-assisted debugging, unit testing and documentation . Experience with prompt engineering for software development . Strong ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs. Experience with modern software architecture and secure software development. Strong communication, problem-solving and technical mentoring skills. Beneficial: Experience with Microsoft Azure , including App Services, Container Apps, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Azure OpenAI, Key Vault and Application Insights. Experience building AI-native applications . Experience implementing AI agents . Experience with AI Agent Frameworks, Model Context Protocol (MCP) or AI workflow orchestration. Experience working in an enterprise consulting environment. Experience in highly regulated industries. Microsoft Azure, AI Engineering, Cloud or Agile\/Scrum certifications.
