Senior Diesel Mechanic

Location: George, Western Cape
Salary: R25,000 per month, negotiable based on experience

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Diesel Mechanic to join our team. 

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, extensive practical experience and the ability to independently diagnose, service and repair diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. We are looking for a dependable, solution-driven individual who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and maintaining high mechanical standards.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic assessments, maintenance, servicing and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Identify mechanical faults and troubleshoot complex technical problems. Conduct engine, transmission, brake, clutch and related mechanical repairs. Perform preventative maintenance and ensure vehicles and equipment remain in good working condition. Interpret technical manuals, service schedules and diagnostic information. Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and to the required standards. Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation. Identify additional repair requirements and communicate these accordingly. Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment. Minimum Requirements: Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a senior or independently operating capacity. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems and diagnostic procedures. Ability to independently identify faults and carry out repairs. Relevant Diesel Mechanic qualification or recognised trade test. Valid driver's licence. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Reliable, responsible and able to work independently as well as within a team.
