Senior Application Developer

A well-established company is seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer to design, develop, test, implement, and support applications that improve business efficiency and enable strategic business outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions, manage technical requirements and risks, and contribute to continuous application improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong software development experience, with a solid background in C#, .NET, SQL Server, web development, APIs, and Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain applications.
• Work closely with business and technical teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Define and manage non-functional requirements and development tasks.
• Estimate and plan development activities.
• Ensure software solutions meet architectural, technical, and quality standards.
• Provide technical support during requirements definition and solution development.
• Identify and manage technical risks and issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvements across applications and development practices.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
• Act as a subject matter expert on key technologies and development practices.

Minimum Requirements:

• Computer Science or relevant technical degree, diploma, or certification.
• Minimum of 8 years' software development experience.
• Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience working in an Agile environment, including Scrum or Kanban.
• Strong experience with C#, .NET 6, .NET Core, SQL Server, Blazor, HTML5, and CSS.
• Experience developing web solutions.
• Experience with APIs and RESTful web services.
• Experience with unit testing.
• DevOps automation experience will be advantageous.
• Previous insurance industry experience will be advantageous.
• Strong planning, organisational, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
