Job Title: Rock Drill Operator (Underground Platinum Mine)
Location: Lydenburg, Mpumalanga

Job Overview:
Drill holes with a hand-held rock drill in stoping and development ends, safely and to the specified pattern.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements: Grade 10 or higher, with rock drill operator training or equivalent. At least 2 years' experience as a rock drill operator underground. Good knowledge of conventional drilling and safety. Valid Certificate of Fitness. Advantageous: Experience in platinum mining; experience with pneumatic and hydraulic drills; a record of high drilling performance. Key Responsibilities: Check the working place and test the hanging wall before drilling. Set up and operate the rock drill, and drill to the specified pattern and depth.
