Shift Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Job Title: Shift Super (Underground Platinum Mine)
Location: Leydenburg (Mpumalanga)

Job Overview:
Lead a production shift underground, making sure the crew meets its targets safely, within quality and cost standards.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements: Matric, with a mining supervisory qualification or the relevant competency certificates (such as blasting) or equivalent. At least 5 years' underground experience, including 2 or more in a supervisory role. Experience supervising both conventional and trackless sections. Valid certificate of fitness. Advantageous: Experience in a platinum or hard-rock mine; experience with production planning and cost control; labour relations experience. Key Responsibilities: Plan and allocate work to miners, team leaders and operators for the shift. Inspect working places before and during the shift and make sure they are safe to work in. Enforce safety standards, legal requirements and mine procedures. Manage blasting, ground support, ventilation and housekeeping in line with the plan. Track production against targets and report on the shift, including delays and incidents. Manage attendance, discipline and performance of the crew, and coach team members. To apply, email CV to: , ,
