What you'll do

• Lead and coordinate comprehensive risk assessments across engineering operations to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement strategic risk mitigation plans ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering collaboration to enhance risk control measures and operational resilience.
• Utilise advanced analytical tools and industry-standard technologies to monitor, evaluate, and report on risk management performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety excellence, cost efficiency, and sustainability within engineering projects.
• Engage with key stakeholders including regulatory bodies, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
• Oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop training programmes and awareness campaigns to promote a proactive risk management culture among engineering personnel.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of risk management activities, complying with corporate governance and audit requirements.
• Support large-scale engineering projects with risk management expertise to facilitate successful delivery and operational continuity.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in risk management within engineering environments, preferably within retail or large-scale industrial operations.
• Demonstrable expertise in conducting risk assessments, hazard identification, and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards relevant to engineering projects.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Advanced analytical skills, including proficiency with risk management software and industry-standard technologies.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities to collaborate with regulatory authorities, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
