Restaurant Service Supervisor This role forms part of the Food & Beverage team at Camps Bay Retreat, within the Village n Life hospitality group, based in Camps Bay, Cape Town.   The role As Restaurant Service Supervisor, you'll take responsibility for the smooth running of daily service at Bella's Restaurant, ensuring guests receive attentive, professional service in keeping with the character of Camps Bay Retreat.   We're looking for an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys being on the restaurant floor, leading a service team and building relationships with guests. You'll need a strong understanding of restaurant operations, good attention to detail and the confidence to take charge of a shift.   Reporting to the Host Manager, you'll oversee service across breakfast, lunch and dinner, coordinate with the kitchen and Reception teams and support the operational controls that keep the restaurant running efficiently.   Key responsibilities Supervise daily restaurant service across breakfast, lunch and dinner Lead shift briefings, allocate duties and ensure the restaurant is prepared for each service Maintain restaurant presentation, table settings, staff grooming and service standards Welcome guests, manage reservations through Dineplan and attend to special requests Build relationships with resident guests and recognise returning visitors Coordinate with the kitchen and Reception teams to ensure efficient service and communication Train and coach team members on service standards, menu knowledge and guest interaction Assist with staff rosters, attendance monitoring, training records and shift handovers Ensure accurate billing, POS transactions, cash-ups and daily reconciliations Assist with stock control, stock takes, beverage variances and wastage monitoring Support restaurant sales through knowledgeable menu recommendations and promotion of current offerings Coordinate restaurant service for Day Retreats, special occasions and private dining arrangements Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety and health and safety requirements Report maintenance concerns and ensure adherence to restaurant operating procedures   What we're looking for Grade 12 or equivalent; a hospitality qualification will be advantageous Minimum two years' restaurant service experience within a hotel environment, including supervisory or senior waiter responsibilities Sound knowledge of restaurant service standards, food and beverage operations and guest relations Proven ability to lead a service team and maintain standards during busy periods Good food, wine and beverage knowledge Experience with restaurant POS systems, cash-ups and basic stock controls Confident communication skills and the ability to handle guest concerns professionally Good organisational skills, attention to detail and a hands-on approach to problem-solving Computer literacy, with Opera experience advantageous Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays   What we offer A hands-on supervisory position at Bella's Restaurant, Camps Bay Retreat Career development and training opportunities within Village n Life Staff accommodation options, subject to availability Remuneration aligned with experience and responsibilities   If you have not heard from us within two weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful.
