Regional SHEQ Manager (74809)

Job Description

• An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Regional SHEQ Manager to oversee the Quality and Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) functions across multiple manufacturing facilities in KwaZulu-Natal.
• The successful candidate will hold an Engineering, Quality or related Degree and have extensive hands-on Quality and HSE management experience within a continuous production or FMCG manufacturing environment
• We are looking for an energetic, hands-on individual who thrives in the fast-paced and demanding manufacturing environment and is passionate about driving quality, safety and operational excellence

What you will be expected to do:

Manage the full Quality Function for KZN (QA and QC)

• Responsible for ensuring good quality products are consistently produced in the Production Plants, by ensuring all products conform to the agreed Product Specifications
• Responsible for coordinating, reporting and following up on actions relating to all Raw Material, Product and Packaging Trials, ISIRs and DRMs
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Quality and Food Safety Policies, Systems and Processes as documented in the QMS and FSMS
• Lead and develop the Quality Team
• Foster sound relationships with customers by responding immediately to Quality Complaints and Returns, and working effectively with Raw Materials, Sales and Production teams to resolve these issues permanently

Manage the SHE team and portfolio, which includes the following:

• Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant legislation/Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Managing the SHE team to ensure compliance and reporting of the above
• All medicals and IODs
• PPE and uniforms
• All legislative compliance, training and licensing
• All environmental initiatives

What skills you will need in this position:

• A relevant Degree will be essential
• An HSE-only qualification or Diploma only is not sufficient for this position
• Strong computer skills, particularly Excel and Word
• Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
• Hands-on Quality and HSE Management experience in a Manufacturing environment
• Experience managing a team of QC Supervisors, Managers and Inspectors in a current or previous role
• Experience managing the implementation of FSSC, ISO 18000 and ISO 9001 is essential
• Please note that a minimum of 5 years' Senior Quality Management experience across multiple Factories/Business Units is required, as well as hands-on Production Quality and SHE Management experience
