Job Description

About the Role

The Refueller is responsible for the towing, deployment, refueling, and recovery of mobile units. Actual and potential generator non-conformities are identified and addressed, with corrective and preventative actions taken and reported to upper management.


Key Responsibilities

  • The Refueller’s role will involve the Towing, Deployment, Refueling and Recovery of Mobile Generator Units. 
  • Refueling of Static Generators.
  • Performing basic Power checks and facilitate manual changeover between Eskom and Generator supply.
  • Maintaining the general condition and cleanliness of Generators, Bowsers, and all Company Assets.
  • Perform Quality measures and Audits.
  • Oversee and identify the possible risks that may affect H&S, workflow, quality, performance, etc., and must report all risks identified on time in the proper means of communication to urgency.
  • Plan generator repairs.
  • Will be expected to travel and perform tasks in different regions from time to time.
  • Weekly generator Inspections on Site.
Requirements 

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Valid Code 08 EB/EC or EC1 Driver's License
  • Dangerous Goods Driving Permit
  • Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
  • ECB1 Trailer Towing License/Certification
  • Minimum 1 years' experience working on telecommunications sites
  • Knowledge of generator maintenance and operation
  • Knowledge and/or experience in generator dispatching and deployment
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel)
  • Medically fit in accordance with Health & Safety requirements
  • Willingness to travel and work in different regions as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mechanical Trade Test
  • Experience in the facilities management, telecommunications, or service management industry
  • Experience with mobile and static generator operations
  • HIRA training
  • Fire Fighting certification
  • First Aid certification
  • Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
  • Experience conducting generator inspections, audits, and quality checks
  • Experience with generator deployment, recovery, and fuel management operations
