SUMMARY:
One global rollout. Multiple financial environments. A project that demands precision at every stage.
POSITION INFO:
Our client, a major international player in the distribution and logistics sector, is undertaking a significant financial systems implementation across South Africa and its international operations. They are looking for an experienced Finance Project Manager to lead the finance workstreams throughout the implementation and country rollout. This role sits at the intersection of finance, technology and project delivery. You will drive the implementation across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Procurement, ensuring that financial processes, reporting structures and controls work effectively across multiple entities and currencies. If you have the financial expertise to understand the detail and the project leadership skills to keep a complex, multi-country transformation on track, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Key Responsibilities Lead finance workstreams from requirements gathering and system design through testing, implementation, go-live and international rollout. Define and align financial system requirements across GL, AP, AR and Procurement, including the global chart of accounts and multi-currency consolidation. Oversee financial data migration, system interfaces, testing, reconciliations and cutover readiness. Ensure accurate billing, supplier payments, rate structures, intercompany accounting, foreign exchange reporting and financial consolidation. Establish and validate financial controls, approval workflows, audit trails and compliance requirements across operating countries. Manage project plans, budgets, milestones, risks, implementation partners and stakeholder communication, including progress reporting to steering committees and senior leadership. Minimum Requirements A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is essential. A professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, SAIPA or equivalent will be advantageous. At least seven years of finance experience, including a minimum of three years in project management. Proven experience with financial systems or ERP implementations, preferably within logistics, courier, freight, transport or distribution. Strong knowledge of multi-entity and multi-currency accounting, group consolidation, financial controls, data migration and system interfaces. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, strong project governance and stakeholder management capabilities; PMP, PRINCE2 or an equivalent project management certification will be advantageous. The challenge? Delivering a consistent global financial framework while accounting for the requirements of different countries, currencies and operating environments. If you can bring finance and technology together, manage competing priorities and deliver complex projects through to implementation, this could be your opportunity to contribute to a major international transformation.
