Production Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Supervise end to end production processes within a meat manufacturing plant. Note that the role is based near Cullinan.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities Production Train and manage production staff across the retail plant, manufacturing plant, ensuring products meet specifications. Oversee all production processes and ensure efficient and effective procedures are developed, reviewed and implemented to optimise production. Ensure products are delivered according to established standards and order fulfilment requirements. Manage stock control and ensure appropriate stock rotation. Ensure products meet customer requirements, particularly regarding appearance, packaging and labelling. Ensure hygiene standards are maintained throughout all production processes and procedures. Ensure correct labelling selection criteria and quality standards are applied, including neatness and sequencing. Ensure all procedures comply with relevant legal and hygiene requirements. Report quality and maintenance non-conformances to the immediate manager and implement appropriate corrective actions in accordance with company procedures. Optimise the cost-effective utilisation of equipment, assets and human resources. Supervise production line planning to ensure service levels are achieved. Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and skills relevant to production efficiency and improvement. People Management Conduct workforce planning to ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational objectives, considering internal and external factors. Implement and manage people development initiatives, including performance management, succession planning and talent management, to ensure required performance standards are achieved. Ensure disciplinary procedures are applied appropriately. Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Ensure acceptable personal hygiene standards are maintained by all staff. Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain product and process hygiene standards at all times. Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with applicable occupational health and safety guidelines and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 is required. Master Meat Cutting Certificate is preferred Experience 5-10 years of operational meat-cutting experience in beef and lamb is required. 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a meat production environment is required.
