Mid-Weight Designer

99c is a full-service, integrated advertising agency with offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg, and one of South Africa’s largest independently owned agencies.

We are looking for a Mid-weight Designer to join the dedicated team on a new financial services client in our Cape Town office. You will work across both ATL and digital communication and will be the client’s day-to-day designer: managing roll- outs, supporting the Senior Art Director and making sure jobs get out the door accurately and on time.

The role doesn’t need to be concept-led, but you must be a thinker. You need to understand why a design works, solve problems, and adapt a campaign across different channels. A strong understanding of digital channels, including CRM and web, is essential.

Role includes but is not limited to

• Acting as the day-to-day design contact on the client, handling campaign roll-outs and adaptations across ATL and digital channels
• Supporting the Senior Art Director in bringing campaigns to life and making sure
• every job is delivered on time and to standard
• Designing for digital channels, including CRM (emailers and newsletters), web (banners, landing pages and web assets) and social media
• Presenting work confidently to clients and senior creatives
• Maintaining exceptionally high standards for execution and attention to detail
• Collaborating and communicating well with the team and other departments

Minimum experience and skills required

• Relevant tertiary qualification• At least 2 years’ experience as a Designer in a large or integrated advertising agency, including a high-volume environment
• Proven experience working across ATL (print, outdoor and in-store) and digital communication
• A strong understanding of digital channels, including CRM and web design best practice (essential)
• Demonstrated experience in social media design across platforms
• Strong skills in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator (non-negotiable)
• Experience with Figma and After Effects (advantageous)
• Financial services experience (advantageous)
• Strong interpersonal skills; a team player and positive, innovative thinker
• Highly motivated, with the initiative to work independently under pressure
