SUMMARY:
A well-established international product development and sourcing company is looking for a Merchandiser Assistant to join ithe Cape Town team. The business works with leading international retailers, managing the development, sourcing, production and supply of a diverse range of products across global markets.

POSITION INFO:
About the Role The Merchandiser Assistant will provide day-to-day support to the merchandising team, assisting with the coordination and administration of products from development through to production and delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with Merchandisers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure product information, samples, orders and timelines are accurately managed and followed up. Key Responsibilities Assist the Merchandiser with the day-to-day management of product ranges. Assist with the development and coordination of new products. Coordinate and track samples, approvals and amendments. Liaise with suppliers and factories regarding product development and production. Follow up on outstanding samples, approvals, orders and deadlines. Maintain accurate product, supplier and order information. Assist with purchase orders, pricing and product documentation. Update and maintain spreadsheets and merchandising reports. Monitor key deadlines and communicate any delays or issues. Assist with general merchandising administration and reporting. Ensure product information and documentation is accurate and up to date. Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth product development and delivery. Requirements Matric \/ Grade 12. A qualification in Fashion, Clothing Management, Retail, Merchandising or a related field would be advantageous. Previous experience in merchandising, buying, product development, retail or a similar environment would be advantageous. Strong administrative and organisational skills. Excellent attention to detail. Good numerical and analytical ability. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Strong communication and follow-up skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Proactive, reliable and eager to learn. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
