Manager (Development)

Job Purpose:

• To plan, coordinate and supervise all activities related to the design, development and implementation of enterprise information systems and software applications for eThekwini Electricity.

Key Responsibility Areas:

• Provide input into the ICT strategy and implement industry methodologies, procedures and standards for software development.
• Implement and manage change control processes and systems which involve the development and designing of standards in terms of service level agreements.
• Oversee the specification, development and deployment of new applications, systems software and enhancement.
• Manage projects through undertaking risk assessment and impact analysis.
• Research, implement and adapt appropriate industry adopted methodologies, best practices, procedures and standards for systems development.
• Provide liaison and communication channel to the user as well as third parties.
• Monitor the effectiveness of systems and conduct research on the latest technological developments.
• Manage staff and set goals to be achieved by the section in line with set performance standards.

Essential Requirements:

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license
• 5 Years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements:

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field.
• 6 Years relevant experience.
