About the Role
Vacancy exists for a Maintenance Supervisor at the New Vaal Brine Water Treatment Plant. The base site for this position will be in the Vanderbijlpark area, Gauteng.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager, this position is required to manage and execute maintenance related work, which includes predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance work, as per planned maintenance windows, the CMMS and/or when required by management.

POSITION INFO:
What you'll be doing Ensure application of and adherence to the Computerized Maintenance Management System (MaintainX) and ensure all assets are clearly marked and controlled with an Asset Register. Attend breakdowns and prioritize jobs promptly. Plan & perform routine services, repairs and preventative maintenance of the electro-mechanical equipment in a professional and cost-effective manner, timeously. Apply sound human resource principles, administration and control procedures to meet performance objectives. Ensure safety standards applied and adhered to, as well as housekeeping meets the standards as set out in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act \/ Mines Health and Safety Act (Applicable to specific site) at high level and comply with all applicable ISO system requirements and ensure continual improvement of these systems. Be able to hold legal safety appointment\/s, in line with job requirements and MHSA & OHSA (e.g. monthly client safety meetings, safety files adherence and responsible for the execution of statutory inspections). Maintenance spares management and controlling thereof. Ensure that specified, approved and contractual required stock levels of spares are kept and managed. High standard of monitoring and reporting on electro-mechanical plant condition. Ensure adherence to Predictive & Preventative Maintenance compliance and planned work execution Implement and manage artisan standby roster, manage overtime hours, leave roster, skills development program and enforce general discipline, as per company procedures. Conduct weekly toolbox talk with the maintenance team. Conduct regular maintenance forward-planning and lead weekly meetings and submit reports as and when required. Willingness to assist with hands-on maintenance related work during non-high-risk work activities Be able to oversee high risk work during week-ends and after hours as and when required. Assist with contractor management for maintenance related work on site (eg. SLA, incl escorting filter press and lime deliver trucks as required). Assist with specifications, sourcing quality control of equipment required \/ refurbished \/ repaired as well as pricing, tendering and implementation on new electrical, mechanical and civil installations. Conduct problem solving principles [Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and\/or 5 Why's] to prevent recurrences of problems Control, analyse and manage the information on the CMMS on a timeous basis and use this information as a management tool. Manage and coordinate maintenance team. Liaise with the client for necessary arrangements. What you'll need Qualified Millwright having undergone apprenticeship or equivalent apprenticeship training. Require a section 13 or section 26D trade test certificate as Millwright (Electro-mechanician). Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in maintenance of large electrical and mechanical installations. Must have a strong electrical background and be able to trouble shoot accurately and quickly. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in SCADA and PLC control systems as well as field control instrumentation will be an advantage. Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills Ability to diagnose complex pump and process-related failures Precision alignment skills (laser alignment preferred) Effective troubleshooting under pressure Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Good report writing and feedback skills Ability to communicate professionally with client representatives Planning and organizing maintenance activities efficiently Time management and ability to prioritize breakdowns Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Computer literacy (MS Office, maintenance systems, VSD interfaces) Strong safety leadership and compliance mindset What is in it for you?
