Learner Fire Fighters

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12;
• Fire fighter one (NFPA 1010) previous NFPA 1001;
• Fire fighter two (NFPA 1010) previous NFPA 1001;
• Hazmat awareness (NFPA 470);
• Hazmat operational (NFPA 470);
• First aid level 3;
• Code B or code C1 drivers license ;
• Attention to detail;
• Knowledge of various firefighting techniques;
• Ability to handle stressful conditions;
• Good communication skills;
• Ability to work in a team;
• Sound knowledge of fire and disaster legislation;
• Must be able to speak, read and write in at least two of the official languages in Kouga Municipality (Afrikaans, English, and Xhosa).

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

• Exposure to all weather conditions and risk related areas of operation;
• Required to work in hazardous locations at considerable above grade elevations;
• Required to work shifts;
• This post requires the incumbent to be able bodied.

SALARY:

• R72 000.00 Per Annum
