- We are seeking a suitably qualified IT Support Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will provide first- and second-line technical support to users at our head office and construction sites.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide first- and second-line support on-site and remotely, resolving helpdesk tickets within agreed service levels and confirming resolution with users.
- Install, configure and maintain Windows desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and peripherals and troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity issues across office buildings and construction sites.
- Assist and train users on Microsoft 365, Teams and business applications.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, mailboxes, permissions and access in Active Directory and Microsoft 365, support device security and report IT incidents and vulnerabilities promptly.
- Keep accurate IT hardware, software and licence records and conduct regular asset and stock audits and physical checks.
- Document procedures, fixes and changes and suggest process improvements.
Education and Experience:
- Matric with NCV/N6 qualification in Information Technology or a related field.
- At least 3 years' experience in IT support or systems administration, supporting Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 and business applications.
- Experience with Active Directory user administration, networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, switching, VLANs), helpdesk/ticketing systems and IT asset and support records.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's licence, own reliable transport and willingness to travel to project sites
- Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
Added advantage:
- National Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Systems or a related field and current certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+, Microsoft 365 or Azure role-based certifications or CCNA.
- IT support experience in a construction, engineering or multi-site environment and knowledge of IP telephony
