IT Helpdesk Agent

Job purpose

• To provide ICT functional support to computer end users in the City of Tshwane

Appointment requirements

• Grade 12
• At least one to two years’ experience in ICT end user support or desktop technical support
• A+ will be an added advantage
• Computer literacy
• Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

• Planning and organising skills; oral communication skills; data conversion ability; user support skills; communication skills; cognitive ability

Primary functions

• Set up, configure and install new hardware equipment
• Perform software and hardware maintenance
• Provide efficient technical support to all end users
• Maintain an inventory of hardware devices
• Perform all other technical support and administrative duties
• Investigate and resolve hardware and software faults
• Ensure that daily service-level agreements are met
