Junior Workday Functional Specialist

Job Summary

• This position requires an understanding of system configuration and foundational experience working on cloud-based platforms. The incumbent will work alongside a Strategic Lead and Specialist Configurators to ensure the optimal operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the overall platform.
• The role includes complex testing, business process design, process implementation, analysis, reporting, system support, and ongoing maintenance aligned to best practice recommendations.
• Exposure to Human Capital technology platforms such as Workday, SAP, Sage, and other HR-related systems will be highly advantageous. Knowledge of HR processes, system integrations, and cloud-based application support is desirable. Experience with Workday and HR technology ecosystems is relevant to the role.

Job Description

• Support Tier 1 case management and customer support teams with technical queries.
• Coordinate with team members to analyse and troubleshoot complex system issues, supporting configuration and implementation changes to the application and participating in testing and validation activities.
• Analyse business problems and processes to identify functional and non-functional solutions that meet business requirements.
• Ensure the design, development, configuration, testing, and deployment of platform features are completed successfully, considering out-of-the-box capabilities and platform best practices.
• Ensure all dependent integrations, reports, and business requirements are maintained and supported as ongoing system changes are introduced.
• Work collaboratively as part of a broader functional team responsible for the overall platform and provide cross-functional support where required.
• Perform application maintenance and manage support for platform-related incidents.
• Take ownership of business requirements for small enhancements and drive them through to implementation.
• Maintain platform stability, usability, and performance across production and non-production environments.
• Monitor application performance and identify, investigate, and remediate system errors.
• Provide configuration support across the platform ecosystem.
• Assist with estimating effort and resource requirements for releases and enhancements.
• Participate in testing cycles, ensuring test evidence is maintained according to governance standards and that identified issues are resolved through retesting and validation with business stakeholders.
• Support and maintain Workday, SAP, Sage, and other HR technology platforms, including configurations, integrations, reporting, troubleshooting, and process optimisation.
• Assist with HR system enhancement projects, upgrades, releases, and business process improvements.

• Minimum 2 years' experience supporting, configuring, testing, and maintaining cloud-based applications or enterprise platforms.
• Experience working with Workday, SAP, Sage, or other Human Capital Management (HCM) / HR Information Systems (HRIS).
• Experience in system configuration, business process analysis, testing, reporting, and troubleshooting.
• Exposure to system integrations, release management, and application support.
• Experience supporting business users and resolving platform-related incidents.
• Knowledge of HR, Payroll, Talent Management, Recruitment, Learning, or Workforce Management processes would be advantageous.
