Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for an IT Demand Manager who will be responsible for defining, maintaining, and governing Dis-Chem’s enterprise architecture to ensure technology investments align with business strategy, are scalable, and are sustainable over the long term. The role provides strategic architectural direction across applications, data, integration, and infrastructure, working closely with business and IT leaders to guide decision-making and enable consistent, future-ready solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in IT demand, portfolio management, business analysis, or delivery roles.
- Experience working in large, multi-team IT environments.
- Retail or multi-site experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Demand intake and prioritization
- Manage the intake of IT demand across business units through defined demand management processes.
- Assess, qualify, and prioritize demand based on strategic alignment, value, urgency, and delivery capacity.
- Maintain a clear, prioritized view of IT demand and pipeline.
Business engagement and requirement shaping
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand needs, objectives, and expected outcomes.
- Support the shaping of demand into well-defined initiatives, epics, or requests with clear scope and value.
- Set expectations on feasibility, timelines, and delivery approaches.
Planning and governance
- Coordinate with architecture, delivery, and finance teams to assess demand impacts and dependencies.
- Support investment planning, budgeting, and portfolio governance processes.
- Ensure demand is aligned to approved roadmaps and delivery capacity.
Visibility and reporting
- Provide transparency of demand status, priorities, and progress to business and IT leadership.
- Track changes to demand and manage impacts on delivery plans.
Continuous improvement
- Improve demand management processes, tools, and ways of working.
- Drive better quality demand and reduce unplanned or low-value requests.
