ICT Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client, leading South African provider of innovative ICT and technology solutions, is seeking an experienced ICT Engineer II to support, maintain, and enhance critical enterprise infrastructure environments. This role offers the opportunity to work across networking, virtualization, security, cloud services, backup, and disaster recovery platforms while contributing to the stability and continuous improvement of business-critical systems.

POSITION INFO:
Key Duties & Responsibilities: Administer and support enterprise infrastructure environments, including VMware vSphere virtualization platforms. Manage and maintain networking environments including routing, switching, wireless, VPN, and VLAN technologies. Support and administer Palo Alto firewall environments and security policies. Ensure the availability, performance, security, and resilience of infrastructure services. Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives. Act as a Level 2 and Level 3 escalation point for infrastructure-related issues. Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, optimisation initiatives, and project implementations. Drive automation and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure compliance with ICT standards and governance requirements. Essential Skills & Experience: 5-7 years' experience in enterprise ICT infrastructure, networking, systems administration, or related roles. Hands-on experience with: VMware vSphere MikroTik networking technologies Palo Alto firewalls Strong understanding of: Network infrastructure Virtualization Cybersecurity Storage technologies Backup and disaster recovery Business continuity best practices Experience supporting multi-site environments. Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Relevant tertiary qualification and industry-recognised certifications.
