Internship Programme 2027: Content, Publishing, Design & Layout

Optimi is looking for a motivated, hardworking graduate to join our Internship Programme. The ideal candidate should be innovative, eager to learn, and ready to build practical experience within our Product Development team. This opportunity will also entail completing an accredited qualification over the period of 12 months.

• Grade 12.
• BA Degree specialising in Language and Design, Publishing, Information Design, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suites.
• Practical knowledge of book design and layout(advantageous).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must not have previously participated in an internship programme.

DUTIES

• Assist with prepress preparation of PDFs.
• Convert and re-export printed books into digital formats.
• Create and update interactive PDF features such as bookmarks and tables of contents.
• Perform basic layout work using supplied templates.
• Assist the manager and coordinator with project administration and coordination.
• Follow up with suppliers, service providers and contractors.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on print proofs.
• Perform preflight checks on InDesign and Acrobat documents.

This position is based in Centurion.
