Head of Fintech Platforms

Lead the strategic alignment, integration, governance, growth and sustained performance of the Fintech Platforms portfolio across Payments, Banking, Money Market Account (MMA), Money Market Payments (MMP) and future financial-services capabilities. Translate Group, Financial Services and S-Tech direction into an integrated multi-year portfolio strategy, investment roadmap and operating agenda that balances customer value, commercial outcomes, regulatory obligations, risk, resilience and delivery feasibility. 

Integrate and optimise the portfolio as an end-to-end financial-services value chain, including consolidating MMA and MMP into a unified Money Market proposition and operating model aligned with Banking, Payments and the broader financial-services ecosystem. Establish the governance, decision rights and cross-functional alignment required to realise value across the combined portfolio. 

Own the Fintech domain's business, product, portfolio, investment and strategic outcomes within delegated authority, while S-Tech Head: Engineering & Platforms remains accountable for engineering execution, capability, standards, architecture governance and practices. Achieve outcomes through leadership of an integrated portfolio, cross-functional decision-making and influence across senior business, technology, risk and partner communities rather than ownership of enterprise engineering

What you'll do

intech Platform Strategy & Portfolio Direction 

• Define, integrate and lead the multi-year Fintech Platforms strategy, ensuring alignment across Group, Financial Services and S-Tech direction and translating it into clear portfolio choices and measurable outcomes. 

• Translate enterprise priorities into an integrated roadmap and operating agenda across Payments, Banking, MMA and MMP, resolving competing requirements and sequencing change across the value chain. 

• Set portfolio composition, sequencing, investment and resource priorities using customer, market, regulatory, partner, commercial and technology insights, and recommend material trade-offs to the relevant governance forums. 

Integrated Portfolio Performance 

• Account for the integrated strategic, commercial, customer, risk and operational performance of Banking, Payments, MMA and MMP, supported by clear outcome measures, value-realisation disciplines and governance routines. 

• Resolve cross-portfolio priorities, dependencies and constraints within delegated authority, and shape decisions where trade-offs span multiple functions or investment horizons. 

• Direct corrective action and provide decision-ready performance insight to leadership and governance forums. 

Money Market Integration & Growth 

• Integrate MMA and MMP into a unified customer proposition, roadmap and operating model. 

• Align product, commercial, operational, risk and delivery requirements while removing duplication and customer friction. 

• Set development and investment priorities that support sustainable growth, scalability and customer relevance. 

Product, Customer & Commercial Outcomes 

• Set product direction and evaluate opportunities to improve or introduce financial-services capabilities within the approved mandate. 

• Balance customer value, commercial return, regulatory exposure, operational resilience and delivery feasibility in portfolio decisions. 

• Guide proposition and platform evolution to maintain competitiveness and realise measurable value. 

Investment, Financial & Resource Accountability 

• Lead medium- to long-term portfolio planning and investment prioritisation within approved financial parameters and delegated authority, integrating funding, capacity, risk and value considerations across the portfolio. 

• Manage approved operating and capital expenditure, set resource-allocation principles and redirect capacity across strategic priorities to protect portfolio value and performance. 

• Assess business cases, monitor investment performance and recommend reprioritisation where expected value is not achieved. 

Governance, Risk & Regulatory Alignment 

• Establish and chair portfolio-wide governance for priorities, performance, investment, risk, dependencies and decisions, ensuring clear decision rights and disciplined escalation across the integrated value chain. 

Engineering & Platform Integration 

• Translate Fintech priorities into clear strategic requirements for S-Tech Engineering & Platforms. 

Strategic Stakeholder & Partner Leadership 

• Act as the senior Fintech portfolio integrator and strategic partner to Financial Services, S-Tech and relevant Group stakeholders, aligning competing interests around shared portfolio outcomes. 

Organisation & Leadership Capability 

• Build and lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary Fintech leadership capability with clear accountabilities, decision rights and performance standards across the portfolio. 

What you bring

• Degree in Technology, Commerce, Engineering, Financial Services or a related discipline - (essential); postgraduate qualification - (preferred). 

• +9 years' relevant experience across Financial Services, Fintech, Payments, Banking, product/platform management or related technology-enabled environments - (essential). 

• Substantial senior leadership experience integrating and managing a large-scale, multi-disciplinary product, platform or financial-services portfolio, including leadership of senior managers or portfolio leads - (essential). 

• Proven experience integrating strategy, investment, customer, commercial, risk and technology priorities; leading strategic change; and influencing senior stakeholders and external partners - (essential).
