Fleet Control Room Operator – Truck Monitoring

Working Hours: 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays)Location: Lynwood, PretoriaStart Date: Immediately
Role Overview:

• We are seeking dedicated and alert Fleet Control Room Operators to monitor our Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) system and truck fleet operations in real time. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of our logistics and transportation processes. The position requires shift work, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, on a rotating schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor live data feeds from the WIM system to ensure compliance with transport and loading regulations.Identify and escalate any anomalies or exceptions (e.g., overloaded trucks, route deviations, equipment faults)
• .Log incidents, observations, and actions taken clearly and accurately.
• Maintain ongoing communication with field teams, drivers, and site supervisors when required.
• Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and escalate deviations to supervisors.
• Ensure accurate shift handovers and maintain continuity of information between teams.
• Perform basic data checks and reports for internal use and audits.

Requirements:Work Schedule: 

• Must be willing and able to work night shifts, weekends, and public holidays on a rotating roster.Experience: Previous fleet control, control room, dispatch, security surveillance, or operations monitoring experience is advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric / Grade 12
• 1-2 years’ experience in a contact centre, fleet control
• Reliable transportation and ability to work shifts with minimal personal problems
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft packagesExperience weighbridge and logistics operations will be an added advantageClear Criminal Record

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and alertnessGood communication skills (written and verbal)
• Comfortable working with computers, dashboards, and basic reporting tools
• Ability to work under pressure and remain calm during incident handling
• Strong customer service orientation
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
• Language: English proficiency required; other South African languages are an advantage.
