My client, a nationally established group of companies, has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Manager - Trading to join their team.
The successful candidate will be a Qualified CA(SA) or have a CIMA qualification, an Honours degree and three (3) years relevant experience.
POSITION INFO:
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: CIMA or CA(SA) qualification. Honours degree. 3 years relevant experience will be an advantage. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI). Exposure to financial management within the SADC region and international trade will be an advantage. Exposure to foreign currency and international payments will be an advantage. Knowledge of Import and export trade. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Financial Manager plays a critical role in analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making within the business. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to optimize processes, improve productivity, and drive growth. Ensure the accuracy of monthly management accounts. Responsible for the timely closing of financial periods. Oversight of balance sheet reconciliations. Cash flow management and liquidity planning. Oversight of creditors, debtors, and inventory management. Support for the annual audit process. Ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. Performance metrics: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPI's) to measure the efficiency of various trading entities. Forecasting: Use historical data and market insights to create accurate forecasts and assist with resource allocation and inventory management. Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and automation opportunities. Budgeting and Financial Analysis: Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial modeling to ensure financial goals are met. Reporting: Prepare regular reports and dashboards for management, providing insights and actionable recommendations. Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities, and propose strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
