Financial Director

SUMMARY:
Big operations need big-picture financial leadership. In a business moving products, managing complex operations and making decisions at scale, the Financial Director needs to see the full picture, from the numbers on the page to the commercial decisions behind them.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a major distribution and logistics giant based in Durban, looking for a Financial Director who can operate at executive level, influence commercial decisions and bring the financial, operational and strategic picture together. This is a high-impact leadership role within a listed environment, where you'll work closely with executive leadership across commercial strategy, risk, pricing, modelling, performance and growth. Beyond keeping the numbers in check, you'll be expected to challenge, improve and transform, from driving continuous improvement and change initiatives to strengthening systems, processes and decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic and executive financial leadership across the business Partner with executive leadership on commercial strategy, pricing and business decisions Lead FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling Oversee financial reporting and listed-company compliance requirements Manage statutory compliance and governance Lead group consolidations Oversee treasury, cash flow and working capital management Lead CAPEX planning, evaluation and financial control Lead and develop a large finance team Drive continuous improvement, transformation and change initiatives Strengthen processes, systems and financial controls Build and maintain advanced financial models and executive dashboards Job Experience and Skills: CA(SA) essential 5 to 10 years' experience at senior management \/ executive level Proven experience leading and developing larger teams Listed-company experience essential Distribution, logistics, warehousing, supply chain, manufacturing or transport experience preferred Strong strategic, commercial and executive leadership capability Proven FP&A and financial modelling experience Strong financial reporting and listed compliance knowledge Consolidation experience across multiple entities Strong treasury, CAPEX and cash flow expertise Track record of leading implementations, continuous improvement and change management Advanced MS Excel, including modelling and dashboard development Sage experience Experience with consolidation platforms such as Oracle HFM, Cognos or similar ShipShape experience advantageous This is more than a Financial Director role, it's an opportunity to influence how a major listed operation performs, grows and evolves.
