POSITION INFO:
Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join their maintenance team in KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical maintenance, fault-finding, breakdown support and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of industrial plant machinery and equipment. Key Responsibilities Conduct daily plant and equipment inspections. Repair motors, control equipment and other electrical equipment. Perform fault-finding on industrial machinery. Complete planned maintenance according to scheduled requirements. Accurately record work completed on job cards and maintenance schedules. Conduct safety inspections on plant and equipment. Report serious or unresolved defects to the Electrical Foreman and Engineer. Assist the Electrical Foreman with planning, organising and controlling departmental activities. Assist electricians with breakdowns and provide guidance or training when required. Review work completed by artisans and maintenance employees. Control electrical inventory and spare parts. Perform ongoing standby duties. Carry out reasonable duties assigned by the Electrical Foreman or Engineering Manager. Minimum Requirements Electrical theory qualification equivalent to an N6. Recognised Electrical Trade Test. Practical training within the electrical trade. Basic training or working knowledge of AC and DC variable-speed drives. Knowledge and understanding of PLC systems. Sound knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment. Ability to read and interpret schematic and wiring diagrams. Strong industrial electrical fault-finding and problem-solving abilities. Willingness to work standby and extended hours when required. Willingness to work in dusty industrial conditions.
