Department Head

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Department Head: Operations Support Insurance to lead and oversee key operational, compliance, systems and people management functions within the Insurance Operations environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, driving operational excellence, enhancing system performance, managing risk, and leading a high-performing team in support of the organisation's strategic objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Oversee the administration and maintenance of the FSCA Central Register for Representatives and Key Individuals.
• Facilitate the registration, de-registration, and status changes of Representatives and Key Individuals with the FSCA.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of regulatory records and compliance documentation.
• Oversee the annual FSCA levy process and ensure levy payments are processed within prescribed deadlines.
• Monitor compliance with Fit and Proper requirements and applicable FAIS legislation.
• Coordinate annual Fit and Proper assessments for Representatives and Key Individuals.
• Oversee the appointment, maintenance, and compliance requirements of Key Individuals.
• Lead the planning, coordination, testing, and implementation of system changes and enhancements.
• Review and monitor system-related risks, recurring issues, and operational impacts.
• Provide regular reporting on system performance, risks, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
• Oversee the monitoring and administration of tied agents' minimum wage processes.

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management, Insurance, Compliance, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
• RE5 qualification will be advantageous..
• Minimum of 5 years' management experience within the insurance or financial services industry.
• Extensive knowledge of FAIS legislation, FSCA regulatory requirements, and Fit and Proper requirements.
• Experience in compliance monitoring, governance, and regulatory reporting.
• Proven people management and employee relations experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
