Credit Controller - Modderfontein

Job Description

• Our client is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team. This role would suit someone who is comfortable working in a demanding debtors environment, enjoys engaging with customers and can handle challenging conversations professionally.

Responsiilities

• Manage the full credit control and debtors function.
• Follow up on outstanding accounts and ensure payments are received within agreed terms.
• Liaise with customers regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
• Resolve account queries, discrepancies and payment issues.
• Monitor overdue accounts and take appropriate action to minimise outstanding debt.
• Maintain accurate debtor records and provide regular updates on outstanding accounts.
• Work closely with the finance team to resolve queries and support effective debt collection.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12.
• At least 3 years’ experience in a Credit Controller role.
• Experience in a retail or FMCG environment is essential.
• Experience dealing with buying groups and large retailers, including claims, rebates and various allowances, is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central would be advantageous.
• A Credit Management qualification and up-to-date knowledge of the National Credit Act and Consumer Protection Act would be an advantage.
