Job Description
- Our client is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full credit control and debtors function, following up on outstanding accounts and working with customers and internal teams to resolve queries and ensure payments are received within agreed terms.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the full credit control and debtors function.
- Follow up on outstanding accounts and ensure payments are received within agreed terms.
- Engage with customers regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
- Resolve account queries and follow up on discrepancies.
- Monitor outstanding accounts and take appropriate action to minimise overdue debt.
- Maintain accurate debtor records and account information.
- Provide regular updates and reports on outstanding debtors.
- Work closely with the finance team to resolve queries and support effective debt collection.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Deal confidently and professionally with challenging conversations.
- Ensure credit control processes and records are maintained accurately.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Credit Controller.
- Matric and relevant accounting qualification
- Experience working in an FMCG / Retail environment is essential.
- Experience dealing with buying groups and large retailers, including claims, rebates and various allowances, is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Credit Management qualification would be advantageous.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the National Credit Act and Consumer Protection Act would be advantageous.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central would be advantageous.
