Cost Controller

SUMMARY:
Our client, in the Logistics industry, is seeking a Cost Controller to join their team, based in Gqeberha. 

Successful candidate will control costs via preferential contracts with suppliers, monitor contract rates vs actual costs, calculate billing to customers according to contracts, evaluate suppliers, prepare RFQs, and assist in designing process flows and workflow requests.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree (3 years) \/ NQF level 7 3 + years' experience Proficient in MS Office - MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced) & MS PowerPoint Key Performance Areas Assist with budgeting for operation Monitor the performance of operation against budget and RFQs Maintain equipment database for material handling equipment Source new suppliers and evaluate against actual performance (which includes quote comparisons of different suppliers) Review invoices from suppliers and compare to agreed contractual rates Review purchase orders to creditors against operational requirements, RFQ and budget and approve\/reject Calculate billing of customer which includes preparing support schedules and processing invoices on Pastel when required Assist with calculations to quote for adhoc work to customers Assist with month end (journals & reporting) Develop workflow processes and requests on Prisma Health & Safety Comply with policies and procedures Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly Participate in training and awareness programs to maintain competence Follow safe work practices and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Environmental Source environmentally responsible products and services, where required Track environmental impact of purchases, where required Ensure suppliers comply with environmental standards Responsible for adhering to the organization's Environmental Management System (EMS) policies and procedures, contributing to environmental objectives, and participating in sustainability initiatives This includes reporting environmental risks, minimizing resource use, and supporting continual improvement in environmental performance
