About the Role Our client, a prominent player in the property development sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead their financial operations. This critical leadership role involves overseeing all financial aspects of the business, from strategic capital planning and investment structuring to ensuring the financial health of a diverse development portfolio. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support business decisions, particularly regarding property development projects and investments. Develop and manage the annual budget, monitoring performance against forecasts and recommending corrective actions for variances. Oversee cash flow management and liquidity to ensure sufficient funding for day-to-day operations and project requirements. Manage banking relationships and funding partners, including negotiating facilities, managing debt covenants, and overseeing loan applications. Ensure full compliance with South African financial regulations, tax laws, and industry-specific standards. Coordinate the annual external audit process and maintain robust internal controls. Provide sophisticated financial modelling to support business expansion, property acquisitions, and capital allocation. Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to manage intercompany transactions and complex loan structures. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; a CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior financial management role. Sector experience in property development, manufacturing, or retail is highly advantageous. Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and project-based accounting. Deep understanding of South African tax laws and financial regulations. Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
