Branch Operations Manager

Job Overview

Our client is seeking a driven and experienced Branch Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations and overall performance of their branch in Nelspruit. The successful candidate will be responsible for production, dispatch, stock control, sales, customer relationships, staff management and profitability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing or operations management, excellent leadership skills and a hands-on approach to driving efficiency and business growth. Experience in the roofing or roof tile manufacturing industry would be highly advantageous.

• Proven experience in manufacturing, production, branch or operations management.

• Experience managing staff across multiple operational functions.

• Demonstrated ability to improve productivity, control costs and achieve targets.

• Experience in sales, customer relations and business development.

• Understanding of financial and operational reporting.

• Computer literacy and experience with stock-management or business systems.

• Strong leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication, planning and organisational abilities.

• Experience in building materials, roofing, concrete products or a related manufacturing environment will be advantageous.

• Relevant technical or management qualifications will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activities and ensure production targets are achieved.

• Improve production efficiency, machinery utilisation and overall output.

• Monitor product quality, wastage, rejects and production costs.

• Coordinate preventative maintenance and minimise equipment downtime.

• Manage dispatch, loading, transport arrangements and stock availability.

• Ensure accurate order processing and timely deliveries.

• Drive sales growth and develop relationships with customers, contractors, retailers and business partners.

• Prepare and follow up on quotations, orders and customer enquiries.

• Manage and motivate branch employees while maintaining performance and accountability.

• Oversee branch administration, purchasing coordination and operational reporting.

• Monitor expenses, stock movements, customer accounts and outstanding payments.

• Establish and monitor production and sales targets.

• Report on operational performance, sales, costs, stock and profitability.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements and applicable legislation.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is proactive, commercially minded and results-driven, with the ability to take ownership of branch performance and make effective decisions independently. They must be comfortable working across all areas of the operation, from the factory floor to customer negotiations.

Experience in the roofing or roof tile sector would be a significant advantage.

Salary

The CTC package is negotiable depending on experience, with an incentive component.
